UHG!

Ok, so ya all know I am not a regular blogger but hey, I have my excuses! Which I will not be diving into at this time. I do just want to say... UHG!

I hop onto my blog to check out all of my friends' and family's blogs. Well I got on to my blog today to discover that the cute background that I had on my blog is now gone. So I hurry and upload a new one... no big deal right? Wrong... It deleted my wonderfully collected blog list!

So here is my plead to well anyone that might bother checking this... I need your blog sites! I found a few just running through the few that I happen to know by heart or happen to have saved on my favorites list before I made my most amazing blog list on here. I apologize to all of you who may be offended that I no longer have you on my list, or that I do not have your blog memorized, or that I never do anything on my own blog but just stock yours. I love you all!

Ron is a Father!... Again

It is official... Ron is now the Father of a beautiful boy.

Burton Wayne Rasmussen
4' 9"
83 lbs.
He has beautiful green eyes and tons of thick brown hair and is now 10 years old!

On Wednesday, April 14, 2010 Ron adopted Burton. It was a very fun, exciting and emotional day for all of us. We got up, got ready, and went to court. There was a ton of family members there for support. Everything went smoothly and quickly. Ron got to express to Burton why he wanted to adopt him. He cried, I cried, the family cried. It was very touching and sweet. We took pictures (pictures to come later hopefully), shook the judges hand, the judge gave Burton a cool gavel sucker. We got all of our paperwork and we were done.

We celebrated by going to breakfast at Mimi's Cafe with everyone. Then Ron I and the kids went to spend the day together. We wanted to let Burton have a special day so he chose everywhere that we went (which included Mimi's). We went to the Living Planet Aquarium to see the new penguin exhibit. Then we went to the Wooden Park (Discovery Park). The boys played while Breanna took a nap. Then we went out for ice cream of course. We came home and got ready to have a pizza party in the back yard. More family and friends came by to celebrate with us. It was an amazing day!

Burton is extremely happy and was so excited about it that on Tuesday he told his teacher 7 different times that he was going to be adopted and that his name was going to be changed. On Thursday he wanted to make sure that I took the papers to school so that they would change his name. He was also excited because he will get to move up in line by two kids at school. It is fun to see him excited and happy about the whole experience.

I included a little poem that I ran across. Enjoy!

What is a Dad?

A dad is a person
Who's loving and kind,
And often he knows
What you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens,
Suggests and defends...
A dad can be one
Of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs,
But when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient
And helpful and strong.
In all that you do
A dad's love plays a part -
There's always a place for him
Deep in your heart -
And each year that passes,
You're even more glad,
More grateful and proud
Just to call him your dad!

Funiture

I forgot to include pictures of the furniture that I will be owning at some point in my life.

This is the Bedroom furniture that I have picked out and am currently saving up for. I love this huge, chunky, two-tone set. I have not found anything that I like better. I also like the leather on the sleigh type bed.

I love my Nother Mother's kitchen table. It is a pedestal type table. The table is probably 15 years old and looks brand new. The seams (where you insert the leaf) are so tight you can't even fit your fingernail in them weather the leaf is in or out. There are hardly and scratches on it and it is the only dinning table in their house. We have played games, my kids drive their cars on it... This thing is awesome. Anyway, I want it!

*Tip for anyone in the market for a table or really any other wood furniture... Buy your table from a place that makes them in the same place you live. This will insure that it will not shrink or warp because there is no change of altitude or humidity or whatever else happens when you buy it from a place the ships them in.
Here are some pictures:

This one looks just like her table only it seams like her table is a bit bigger

I like the following picture of dining room sets. I like the chairs better in these pictures then I do the ones above. Notice that all of them are pedestal tables. I don't want anyone to have to straddle a table leg.
Ok now on to the sofas...

I really like my sister's sofa set. She bought hers at I.M. Home. So I will probably go and get the same ones. Hers are chocolate brown microfiber. I have decided that whatever I decide to buy it will be done in microfiber. Well here are a few that I like: (I would need different throw pillows on each of these. I think they are all not my style)

What I would change about my house...

A friend of mine wrote on her blog about why she wished she could move. I for one am so happy that she is not moving at least as far as I am aware. I read it thinking I have many of those same thoughts. At the end of her blog she asked "What would your dream house be like?" I thought maybe since I haven't blogged in, Oh I don't know, FOREVER, that I would answer her question.

This question has been on my mind for a while. I have drawn up plans of various sizes of different floor plan I would like. I have walked through friends' houses and thought, I really like that or I would never want that or I WANT THAT NOW! So here a list of the things I would change about our current house or rather things I want in a new house... Dream House!

  • I want a house that is newer (our current house was built in 1954) preferably one built after 1990.

  • I want the roof to NEVER leak. (current roof leaks, there are about 5 buckets in various places in my laundry room to catch drips)

  • I want everyone to have their own rooms (the boys share right now)

  • I want a craft room (A place that I can leave projects out and not have them disturbed, a place that I can close the door and forget until I am ready to pick said project up again, a place for everything and a everything in it's place, a place hubby will not complain about all the supplies being in the way... I really want this, probably more then the never leaking roof)

  • A walk-in closet. (I currently have about 2 feet of closet space, Yes, 2 FEET!)

  • I want my own bathroom. (A bathroom for me and me alone, I might consider sharing with Ron but not unless I have to. I want to decorate it super girly chic in black, pink and silver)

  • I want stairs. (They are fun to decorate for holidays)

  • I want to move where there are better schools for my kids. (current schools are well... maybe you should read Amy's answer, mine is pretty much the same.)

  • I want more counter space in the kitchen

  • I want a bigger fridge (Side by side, can't fit one in current house)

  • More plugs

  • I want crown molding, rounded corners, smooth (no texture) walls and ceilings

  • I do not want hard wood floors

  • I want nice quality carpet throughout the home

  • I want a larger yard (We have a decent size yard but I would love to be able to do more landscaping and have a fun little pathway through a beautiful garden, a gazebo, benches, trailing roses over an arch... I have also done the landscape design for all my various house designs including our current house)

  • I want new furniture but doesn't everyone? ( I will include pictures of furniture that I have picked out and am currently saving up for at the end of this post.)

  • I want a drive way with out a huge dip at the end where it meets the gutter/road.

Ok, now that all the negative things are out of the way, let me note the things I want to keep...

  • My neighbors and ward family! (kind of hard to keep when I want different schools. Think I could talk everyone into moving with me?)

  • For as small as our house is, it has TONS of storage. I have a huge closet/pantry in the kitchen and another in the laundry room, the cupboards in our kitchen hold everything, there are three outside storage areas, plus the shop out back, The boys have an entire wall of closets with shelves in their room. I am glad who ever designed this house they planned for lots of storage.

  • We replaced all the windows and I really like the windows.

  • A track (our house has a great track you can walk through the kitchen into the dinning room/family room in the hall and back to the kitchen. The traffic flow works well with our family plus you can totally avoid the kitchen area if needed. That was kind of hard to describe sorry)

  • I love the built in bookshelves.

  • I like that my dishwasher and microwave are hidden inside a cabinet. I can close the doors and never look at them.

  • I love my stove. I have a gas stove, Love it.

  • The view of the mountains out my front door and windows.

  • I love being 5 minutes from the library, hospital, school, several parks, grocery stores, dollar store, fast food of any kind.

  • We are also equal distance from two temples, Provo and Timpanogos. (About a 15 min drive)

  • Most of our family is here in Utah County, most being within a 1/2 hour drive away.

  • House payment is small and very manageable (This is the main reason why we stay where we are. Amy, I too have a fear of the unknown future. I like being able to make all my payments on time regardless of unknown disasters that have happened in our lives. Ron being out of work for 3 months and we made it on our own!)

We will move some day, hopefully sooner rather then later. It will be hard to move out of this wonderful ward that has welcomed us and befriended all of us. My kids have friends close by, I have several friends close by. (Something that I had never had before moving here) I love this place, now if I could just find a house I could love here too.

The Last Child

I find myself up in the middle of the night with Breanna again but I find that I am not upset or totally exhausted to the point that I am just counting the seconds 'till I can lay her back in her crib and go back to sleep myself. Instead I find that I love to hold her and watch her and rub her cheek. I am grateful that I get to be there in that moment to love and care for her.

It makes me sad to think that she is my last child that I will be up with at night, rocking back to sleep, cuddling with and comforting. I am trying to cherish every second I can and am trying to slow down and not ask for her to grow up so fast. (although at times it would be nice for her to be old enough to communicate more) I keep reminding myself that I need to cherish the time that I am in with each of my children 'cause I will never get that time back.

Don't get me wrong... I am DONE having children but it is still kind of sad that this is the end of that part of my life. I love you, Breanna!

Some of my many projects...

This is just a short message to inform ya all on what I am working on...

The biggest and most ignored project is a quilt for Breanna. The design is called "Ladybugs on Parade" and is one of the ones that I want to work on the most. I am currently collecting fabric scraps. I think I only have about 3 different red pieces... I have a very long way to go! I am going to make her the spread and alter it to make some pillows and a wall hanging.

I have never ending Scrapbooks going all the time. I think the current count is 8 different ones I am working on. The good news is that I have finally collect all of the things for my wedding album and just need a few good un-interrupted days to get it done. Click HERE for a taste of what the packet looks like. I have the paper, stamps, all the matching do dads... etc. I would love to get this done and give it to Ron for his birthday. He likes stuff like that.

I really want to make homemade Christmas cards this year. I used to make them all the time but that was before I had kids or just had one. Maybe I should get the boys to help me this year. It is really nice to have them a bit grown up and capable of truly helping.

I am going to be making a fun project tomorrow for Super-Saturday, Scrabble Tile Pendants! I have high hopes for this. I think it will add to my long list of jewelry making projects, though.

I have plans to have one of my YW girls over next week to make some super cute BFF bracelets. Should be fun. I have a ton of beads that I keep meaning to make jewelry out of. I bought it all to make myself some new things but so far all I have made is items for other people.

I have a few holiday items to finish up for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

Well, the boss is back so I will continue the list another day. If anyone finds something that I just have to add to my Crafty list please let me know. I love craft projects!

Cameron's 5th Birthday!

Happy Birthday my little monkey!

Cameron just turned 5 years old. We all had a lot of fun for his special day. He got to go to school and hang out treats that he picked out the night before (a first that he was really excited for). His teacher gave him a birthday crown that he wore most of the day. Ron, Breanna, and I took him for lunch at the restaurant of his choosing. He chose to go to "Great China". It is a Chinese buffet that he loves. He had a huge plate of chicken that he loved dipping in Lemon sauce.

Can I just take a moment and say how happy and thankful I am that I don't have extremely picky eaters. I am so grateful for the fact that we get to eat at pretty much any where and not hear complaints. There is almost always something that the kids will eat on any given menu. I can go through a drive through and order hamburgers and not have to make any special requests other then maybe no pickles (myself included on that special order) and if by chance they mess up that simple request, that my wonderful children just pick it off and eat it anyway! There are never any melt downs, tantrums, fits or all out screaming when we go out to a restaurant.

After lunch we picked Burton up from school and took the kids to Chuck-E-Cheese (Cameron's favorite place in the entire world). We all played and had fun. We were counting our tickets up and Burton suggested that we let Cameron pick out a BIG prize with all the tickets that we have been hording for the past year. Burton was so cute with him. He took him over to the counter and helped him pick it out. Cameron got a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle toy. There was even a bunch of tickets left over that Burton was able to get a game (a reward for being so selfless)!

We went home and got ready for all the family that we had planned on having over. We baked a cake and decorated it. Took some time to relax before the crowd came.

Party Time... Oh well not quite the crowd that we usually have. Most everyone was busy. It was a bad night to plan it but Cameron still had a good time. Grandma Great's present was a hit! She brought over balloons with money inside. Julie brought him a dinosaur... Scared him and made him cry at first. Then he found out how cool it was and played with it all night. We got him a bunch of stuff like a new train for his Thomas the Tank set, some sandbox toys, airplanes, snakes, lizards... etc. The kid made a pretty good haul!

Leprechaun gone missing!?!

Burton asked me the other day in the car... "Mom, why didn't the leprechaun come this year?"

The leprechaun comes every year and leaves a little surprise at our house every year but this year. In past years, he has left a messy trail of confetti, paper clovers stuck to walls, green treats, stickers... it usually isn't much but he ALWAYS leaves something!... except for this year.

I glanced over at ron and Yikes... I forgot that the leprechaun was suposed to come... I told Burton that "I have no idea what happened to him this year" ... "Burton do you believe in the leprechaun?"

Burtons had no reply

Then Ron piped in... "You know Burton, the Easter Bunny and the Leprechaun are really good friends, and you said the other day that you didn't believe in the Easter Bunny anymore. Maybe that is why he didn't come."

"Oh" was Burton's only reply.

Oh, I am a horrible mom... I forgot all about having the leprechaun come this year. And then blamed it on my son not believing... I am going straight to Hell!

I got out the green clothes for everyone to wear, bought a couple of crazy green hats from the dollar store, even had my toes painted green. But I forgot the most important part... THE LEPRECHAUN!!!

I hope that the Easter bunny can make up for the leprechauns lack of respronsibility!

OH, THOSE DARN LEPRECHAUNS CAN NEVER BE TRUSTED!!!

My 30th Birthday Party!

Well there is no better place to start then at the beginning... So here it goes.

I should probably give you a little background info before I start in on the actual day. My Best friend Karen had just turned the big 30 last October and she had a fun party for herself. She later asked me what I was going to do for my 30th. I told her that I wasn't planning anything and joked that she should throw me a party... otherwise it would be left up to Ron to plan. (I hate to plan parties for myself.) This is where it all started... she decided to take on that project and plan my birthday party. She would ask me what I wanted and I would always blow her off and tell her just to plan something fun. She knows me pretty well so I knew she would not have a problem doing something fun. I also just directed her to Ron if she had any other questions.

Ok, so I knew that Karen was planning a party for me. I told her I didn't want to know anything... and she didn't tell me anything! All I knew was that it was coming up...

The day started out good... I got to sleep in a bit... Ron got the kids up and dressed... Ron made breakfast. He didn't ask me what I wanted, he just made it. He made Corned Beef Hash which was exactly what I was craving.

Then some not so fun stuff... Ron wanted the house cleaned (why would he need the house cleaned?... hum) so he and the kids cleaned it up and I helped a little grudgingly... I did NOT want to clean the house on my birthday. Can you blame me?

At about 11:00 am the kids wanted to go for a ride up the canyon and go on a picnic. Ron informed me that he had plans for the two of us and that my mom was coming to watch the kidlets at 1:00 but that she had to go to work at 4:00. So he said that we could just go to the park and have sandwiches (Humm... the park you say?)

We picked up some sandwiches from Subway and went over to the city park. (Nothing... ok?) We sat on our blanket and ate our Sandwiches. Then played on the playground and Breanna loved the little slides and baby swings. Cameron was brave and went down the BIG slide and tried his hand at the monkey bars. He made it half way and yelled for help. Burton just enjoyed the family time and didn't want to play with anyone that wasn't one of us. He is usually a pretty social kid but he likes family time alot!

Ok, well it was just about 1:00 so we headed for home. (Ok... it must be coming now... ) Mom's car was there and we walked in and... (nope not yet!) pretty much just dropped off the kids and Ron and I left.

Ron wanted to take me to get a massage at the Utah Massage College... it was a 2 for 1 weekend so we knew it would be busy. We pulled up got out and went to put our name on the list... we asked the wait time and the girl said it would be 4 hours! WOW... 4 hours! So needless to say we did not get a massage. Ron asked me what I wanted to do since his plans were shattered. I dragged him over to the Provo Craft Outlet which was right next door. We wondered around and I picked up a few craft items... I found some cute Large Easter chipboards that I will make a garland out of... a later blog if I think about it.

I told him I need some Caffeine so we stopped at a gas station. We both picked up a huge Pepsi and I grabbed some Dark Chocolate... Ron tried to tell me I didn't need the chocolate and I said yeah right... We hopped back in the van and he started driving. He then pulled up in front of Planted Earth. It is this really cute little antique shop. Ron knows I love these little shops! We wondered around the whole store. They had some really fun things, old and new. I got some great ideas on stuff to make for gifts and for myself. Didn't buy anything though... there was nothing that I couldn't live without, at least that I couldn't just make myself.

It was about 4:00 so we headed for home. (OK... so maybe it is time and this is why we had to clean the house) We got home and mom was just there waiting for us. She chatted for a minute and then said she had to go to work. (Umm... ok... I guess no party today... maybe tomorrow)

Then Ron said that he wanted to go for a ride up the canyon since we didn't get to go before. We were getting ready and getting the kids ready. Cami called to wish me "Happy Birthday". I talked to her for a bit then Cameron wanted to talk to her. So I handed the phone over to him. Cameron got on the phone and said "We are taking my mom to her party now" (hahaha I knew it was today!) I yelled down the hall to Ron... "Cameron just told" WOOPS bad idea... Cameron started to cry cause he let the secret out! Ron got mad at him for letting the secret out... I got upset with Ron for getting mad at Cameron...

Tip: 4 year olds should never be told about a surprise party... they can never keep it a secret!

Ok... so out the door we go... to my now not so surprise party. Ron drives down the street ( I think we are heading to Karen's house) he rounds the corner (ok, not Karen's house, maybe we are going to a park). He pulls up in front of Marie's house. Then Ron tries to tell me that Marie is having us over for dinner (Yeah, right!)

We walk up to the house... I brace myself for the whole "Surprise!" Ron makes me go first of course. Karen attacks me with this: a red feather boa, a crown, a wand, some beads, and a ring(which she broke...LOL!)
Ok so here are a bunch of pictures of the party... The masterminds of the party! (Marie and Karen and that is Karen holding Konner)
This is the yummy food... (Chocolate chocolate cake... guess Ron was right about not needing that chocolate earlier... mom's 7 layer dip, cheese crackers, chips and dips) and yes it was very yummy!!!
There was a ton of people that came... I was sad that a few people weren't there but there were a ton of people! Here is Ruth and Judy...
Shane, Katie, Staci, Julie, Tionna, Wendy with her girls Clair and Aden.
Then a bunch of the girls made me some jewelry. If you hadn't guessed it by now it was a Jewelry themed party... See Karen does know me well!
And Finally here is me opening some of my presents... With Burton helping!
This party was so much fun! They also had a little quiz about me that everyone tried their best to answer, including me. We ate and chatted and made jewelry and spilled beads everywhere. Don't I have the Bestest Best Friends? I think I am pretty luck to be loved by them all. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!
Yes, another meme... I got this one from my friend Amy! I get most things from her site. Her blog is my favorite to read. She has a way with words that I greatly admire and covet!

1. When you looked in the mirror today, what was the first thing that came to mind?

"Oh man, do I have to do my hair or can I get away with a pony again?" I love it when I do my hair, it looks so much better when I take the time to wash it and blow dry it... but Breanna had a rough night so I was too tired to create my hair masterpiece... I opted for a pony with a little braid on the side.

2. How much cash do you have on you?

I general try not to carry much cash. I spend it if I have excess in my wallet. I probably have less then 10 bucks... I like to have a couple dollars in case of emergency.

3. What's a word that rhymes with DOOR?

Floor, and I have nothing to say on this. Sorry that is just the word that came to mind.

4. Favorite planet?

I am kind of partial to Earth... guess that is because it is where I live and the one I am most familiar with and know the most about.

5. Who is the 4th person on your missed call list on your cell phone?

Val Rasmussen (Ron's Dad) that is who is the 4th person on my list... that doesn't mean that he is the 4th call I missed. My phone keeps a tally next to the name, Ron and Karen are tied they each have 11 next to theirs so it is more likely one of them that I missed their call. My phone needs to ring one more time... then I would rarely have a missed call. I am either running to grab it or rummaging around for it in my purse or it is stuck in my pocket (which I usually hang up on whom ever is calling cause I grab it and hit the wrong button as I am pulling it out of my pocket)

6. What is your favorite ring tone on your cell phone?

I have lame ring tones on my phone. I think my favorite out of the lame tones is Mix Master. Oh hey Amy if you so desire... I can teach you how to do the basics on your phone. Like how to change settings, add my number into you speed dial, put a picture of your kids on as your wallpaper... you know, the important stuff.

7. What shirt are you wearing?

I am wearing a plain white T with a black jacket over it. It is my favorite jacket. I got it at Macy's for like $10.00 it is black and it is eyelet material. I love Black clothes and also eyelet material!

8. Do you "label" yourself?

I loved Amy's answer... "Depends on what you mean by "label." I don’t label myself in designer clothes, lol! ;) I DO tend to have fairly negative thoughts about myself on a consistent basis. I wish I could label myself with something positive by those labels tend not to stick." She manages to put into word exactly what I think. I agree with this 100%.

9. Name the brand of shoes you are currently wearing?

Bass - I found these beauties at DI for $3.00. They are also black. They are those short ankle boot types. I always wear them with pants... I never have gotten in the style where you wear ankle boots with skirts. I think it cuts me off and makes me look even shorter. We all know that I don't need to look any shorter!

10. Bright or Dark room?

Depends on my mood. Happy mood or it is springtime and sunny oh, and I am dressed, I love to open the curtains and windows. Other wise I prefer to have them closed. I do open them if my kids are playing outside so that I can keep an eye on them.

11. What were you doing at midnight last night?

Just going to bed. I am a night owl and love the quiet that I get when the rest of the world is asleep. Only problem is that is when I want to get stuff done and I have to stay quiet or the rest of the world would wake up.

12 .What did the last text message on your phone say?

Mark - telling me he had an appointment and would not be coming to get Burton.

13. Where is your nearest 7-11?

1.39 miles away... I only know this because Amy blogged about it and we live really close to each other. I drive by it to get on the freeway but I would never have known how far away it was. I would have guessed 1 mile. Thanks Amy.

14. What's a word you say a lot?

Shush... is that a word cause I really say it alot. I have a son who is so much like his dad. They both talk constantly about everything and anything and they tell me the same thing over and over just to make sure I got it. So between Ron and Cameron I never get a moment of silence... even when I say Shush. (Shush must only mean, take a breath cause that is about how long it works for.)

15. Who told you he/she loved you last?

Ron, he always says it when one of us leaves. He always wants a kiss goodbye too. He says that if something were to happen to me or him that he would want to know that he told me and showed me that he loves me... tender huh? I am not a mushy mushy lovey dovey person but he is! Love ya, honey!!!

16. Last furry thing you touched?

Breanna's hair, I love to play with her hair and she loves when I play with her hair (most of the time). She will sit nicely most of the time and let me comb and brush it. She has such fun soft curly hair. You can't help but touch it and run your fingers through the curls. I am glad that atleast one of my children inherited my lovely locks.

17. How many drugs have you done in the last three days? A handful of Tylenol. I have had a couple migraines this week and Tylenol seems to help the most lately. My body changes it's mind on what medication it likes about every year. This year it is Tylenol.

18. How many rolls of film do you need developed?

I have a couple of those disposable cameras hanging around that I really should get developed because now I have no idea what is on them.

19. Favorite age you have been so far? 30... I have really enjoyed turning 30. My BFFs threw me a fun birthday... Yes I will try to blog about it next... I even have a few pictures! I have more friends then I have ever had in my whole life, I feel more loved, more wanted, more accepted for who I truly am and I am accepting everyone into my life (if that makes sense... this is when I would kill for Amy's gift). I do however wish that I had my 17 year old body again. But I am working on gaining a bit of that back... every pound puts me closer!

20. Your worst enemy?

Grasshoppers and moths! I hate them!!!

21. What is your current desktop picture?

A patch of green clovers... I need to switch my Webshots over to Easter instead of St. Patrick's Day.

22. What was the last thing you said to someone? I just said "See ya later, have fun" to my boss as he went out into the "field".

23. If you had to choose between a million bucks or to be able to fly what would it be ?

Hum... if I choose flying I could probably make a million easy by just being able to fly! Plus I would be able to get to anywhere and see anything. Hope I could carry someone with me... wouldn't be much fun to see the sites of the world all by yourself. Hahaha I could probably go on and on about this question... but I won't.

24. Do you like someone?

Yeah, I like most people.

25. The last song you listened to? "Fall Away" by The Fray I was in a bit of a melancholy mood this morning. Needed something kind of rock and kind of mellow at the same time.

Ok... now stay tuned and I will start working on my 30th birthday party post!

Almost Long Enough To Be A Walk Down Memory Lane

Saw this on a couple of my friends’ blogs and thought it would be fun to do since I am having a birthday tomorrow. I'm not tagging anyone but I'd love to see your answers if you should feel so inclined to post.

***20 YEARS AGO (1989)***

1) How old were you? 10 years old.
2) Who were you dating? I was in 4th grade... not much dating going on then. But I had a huge crush on a boy named Matt... Everyone had a huge crush on that boy.
3) Where did you work? Not much working either... just chores and helping my grandpa out in his work shop. He was the founder and owner of Wayne Christensen Heating and Air. I would spend hours everyday out there talking to him and helping him bend the tin into different shapes my favorite things were to run them through this cool machine that would bend it all for you and I would use a permanent marker to draw pictures for him on the scraps that were left over, then tack them up above his work bench with my mad hammering skills. I think my grandma still has some of them hanging up out there.
4) Where did you live? Spanish Fork, Utah (Right across the street from my grandparents, which would explain why I spent everyday with my grandpa)
5) Where did you hang out? Mostly where ever my grandpa was... I was also in Talent Sprouts (a singing group that my cousins, siblings and myself were all in at one point or another)... or at my friend Michelle Partridge’s house.
6) Did you wear contacts and/or glasses? Glasses... pink ones with a little brown plastic bow on the frame.
7) Who were your best friends? My grandpa, Michelle Partridge, my cousin Kellie... I didn’t have many friends as a child
8) How many tattoos did you have? None... Remember... 10 years old... oh wait I think I had the one I gave myself (I accidentally stabbed myself with a pencil and there is still a mark there... so I guess you could consider that a tattoo?)
9) How many piercings did you have? Just one in each ear
10) What kind of car did you drive? I didn’t drive but I did ride around in my grandpa’s Orange and Yellow work van.
11) Had you been to a real party? Just birthday parties, sleep overs and such.
12) Had you had your heart broken? Yes. The boy that I loved in the third grade had to move away. He used to walk me home from school about everyday. I really wish I could remember his name. I would like to thank him for being so nice to me.
13) Were you Single/Dating/Taken/Married/Divorced? Single

***15 YEARS AGO (1994)***

1) How old were you? 15 years old (9th grade)
2) Who were you dating? I think I had a new boyfriend every month. (And dating when you are 15 isn’t true dating) My brother kept tabs on who I was dating... come to find out he kept a lot of the "bad" boys away even though they were the ones that I wanted asking me out (they were also his friends... and he knew them... WELL!). Thank you, Big Brother!!!
3) Where did you work? I cleaned house for a friend whose house was immaculate to begin with. I mostly just washed her windows (she had a ton of them) and mopped the tile floors by hand. I also babysat a bit.
4) Where did you live? Spanish Fork, Utah (We had moved to the Upper East Side by now... which is code for freezing mouth of Spanish Fork Canyon)
5) Where did you hang out? Home... our house was the hangout house! Everyone who was anyone hung out there... well, at least our little group did.
6) Did you wear contacts and/or glasses? I tried contacts but couldn’t wear them... and I hated wearing glasses so I mostly walked around with a slight blur to everything.

"Ruby" a Toyota, Corolla that I later totaled, when I was 16, just after my mom had a new engine put in. It is an interesting story. Maybe I will post it later. I would also drive my cousin’s Nissan pick-up "Beater" a two wheel dive rust bucket. Again, more interesting stories... will try to remember to post later.
11) Had you been to a real party? Yes, we used to have boy/girl parties all the time at our house. I even played spin the bottle a few time, though I chickened out most of the time and the guy and I stood in the other room making funny noises to get a response out of the others. I was a tom boy and all the guys knew me as such. Not much romance at this age.
12) Had you had your heart broken? Yes, by this punk kid named "Clint"and one of my best friends "Camille"... he was my first official boyfriend and later he and my best friend hooked up (yes, really hooked up) well needless to say that was the end of both of those friendships.

12) Have you had your heart broken? Wow, 20 years later and my heart is still beating?... Yes, my heart has been broken many times and in many ways, ways you would expect and others that would be a shock to you and maybe some that might have killed others. I have learned that it is not only men that break your heart or even people for that matter, My heart has broken so many times and in so many different ways then I would have even thought possible at the age of 10. The question should be have I grown from these breaks... Yes, by leaps and bounds! I have become a much better person through these experiences.

I love you, Honey!!!14) Any kids? 3 of the most adorable kids in the world!!! Burton (9), Cameron (4 ½), Breanna (14 mo.)

25 Random things...

Here is a note that I had published on Facebook. I thought I would put it here... 1. For those that don't do Facebook 2. Because I actually spent a while writing it and would like my efforts noticed and 3. I am not really sure what to write for today and I think you might find this interesting... so here you go... oh and I took all of the rules and tags out but if you want to do it, let me know, I would love to read it.
1. My favorite food is Sushi
2. I love to sing but only in the company of myself or my hubby or my kids. I am too embarrassed by my horrible voice to sing in front of anyone else (even my mom).

3. I can not type with out watching my fingers even though I know where all the keys are. Same goes for playing an instrument, I can read music and play it on the piano but not together. (bad connection in my brain I guess)

4. I am a really good cook... but I hate cooking.
5. My first (official, bring home a paycheck) job was working in a plant nursery. I love gardening!

6. I do not like minivans and swore to everyone that I would never have one and that is what I drive now.

7. My favorite vacation spot thus far is San Francisco, CA. I really love going there and wandering the streets, watching the people and eating the yummy food. (It is where Ron and I went on our honeymoon)

8. When I eat something I save the “best bite” for last... example: I eat all the crust of a sandwich first so the last bite is the middle... I eat the crust of the pizza first... I take the top off a muffin and eat the bottom then finish the top.

9. I love Dark Chocolate way more then Milk chocolate... but will defiantly eat both and not complain!

10. My birthday is also know as Pi Day.

11. I make lists...

12. My middle name is Leigh. When I was younger I always miss spelled it “Lee”.

13. I have a great secret key to getting any man... to bad I only got to use it once.

14. I am terrified of Moths and Grasshoppers... but I have no problem with spiders.

15. Just with in the past year or two I discovered that I love to read. I always hated it when I was in school, but now it bugs me when I don’t have a book.

16. I collect collectible pins, antique Glass/dish wear, shoes, purses

17. I love to go antique shopping... my favorite stores are “Granny’s Panties” in Durham, NC and the big “Treasures antique mall” on the Frontage Rd. In Springville, UT.

20. Did I mention that I am extremely competitive and love playing games.

21. I never get lost... Ron says I am the best navigator!

22. I know a LOT about cars... I can change the oil, tires, brakes, rotors, struts, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap, gas tank, lights, battery, timing belt, AC, radiator, well you get the picture.

23. I love Math

24. I am a very non-private person. While delivering my kids I have had my hubby, my mom, my step mom, my dad, my step dad, my sister, my mother-in-law, all in the room... I will answer pretty much any question you have about me... basically nothing is sacred.

25. I love interior design, art (to create or look at), scrapbooking, crafts, sewing, organizing, Etc...

Maybe I will start working on 100 random things...

Starting fresh

Ok... I am starting fresh... I need to blog more... that is obvious! I feel bad that I have let this go for so long. My friends and family come check and all they get is the same story for about a month or two.

I have decided to give it a bit more attention then I have been. I am not going to set a goal or say that I will post every day. Every day is just not possible at the moment for a few different reasons. One being that I don't have internet at home and another being that the internet I do use is at work.... which means I need to be working instead of blogging. But I will promise to do better then I have been doing. Just hang in there everyone... it can't get much worst!

As far as pictures are concerned... If you came on here for pics then you probably will be disappointed. I decided that I am going to write alot more. Pictures might be posted if they pertain to the story or if I have one that I think everyone needs to see. Most of you who read this see my family about once a week anyway. And those of you who don't... well I am sorry. I simply don't have the time to upload them or the want at the moment.

Ok, well that is about all the time I have for today. I am off to pick up children and get them fed and in bed.

Love to all of you... and keep reading please!

"One Thing" Meme

I took this from my friend Amy's Site. Can I just say that I love to read her blog. It is always entertaining to me and always has great things to ponder. I can relate to pretty much everything she writes about. Thanks Amy!

One thing I won’t let my husband buy me: I pretty much let him buy me whatever he wants... I love any gifts from him and if he gets the wrong size I just take it back.

One thing I would love to have, but I probably will never have: My own personal chef that would make my family healthy delicious food. (I hate to cook and Ron doesn't cook real healthy)

One thing you will never find in my closet: Something light yellow or lime green. It looks horrible with my skin color... makes me look sickly!

One thing I would choose if I were having elective surgery: I would get the girls perked up and smaller... much much smaller!

One thing I love about my face: My nose... I have my mommy's nose and it is small and cute with no lumps or bumps in it.

One thing that I love to do: Read... It is my new found hobby. I used to hate reading in school and come to find out that I just hated being told what to read. In English class, they never gave us a list to choose from. I just read the one book that the teacher chose. I hear it is much different now, thank goodness!

One thing I would like to change if I could: I would like to have my very own bathroom that I don't have to share with a bunch of BOYS! One that has a counter that I can set my make up down on instead of the back of the toilet. One that I don't have to worry about closing the door or locking it for that matter because there would be a spare for the little one that has to GO NOW!

One thing I would change as a mom: Have more time to spend with each child. More time to help them learn and grow. I would love to be a stay-at-home mom.

One thing I would do if I had unlimited money: Travel... I haven't been very many places. I would love to swim on the beach in Hawaii, hike along the Great Wall of China, meet all of the people that I talk to from Ron's mission in Australia... The list is to long to put them all here.

One thing that I will not do again: Eat all you can eat Sushi until you can't swallow another bite... the rice expands after a few minutes and it hurts soooo bad!

One thing that I would like to do: Go back to school... Maybe when all the kidlets are finally all in school I can go to school.

One thing I could do without: A flat roof in Utah... Snow needs to run off the roof not through it.

One thing I love to smell: Fresh washed kids, it is the best smell in the world.

One thing I would do if I won the lottery: Pay off my house, Duh.

One thing that infuriates me: My brain... Since the seizures I can't seem to remember anything. I forget appointments, peoples names after they just told me, to brush my teeth, I forget my keys and lock myself out of the house and/or car... you get the idea. (NO, grandma, I haven't forgotten my glasses anywhere... I am not that bad... yet!)

One thing that I love about winter: SNOW

One thing I am addicted to: Chocolate... I have to have it or I get really cranky. Ron keeps the house well stocked, just in case.

One thing I pray for: Success... mostly for my kids but on occasion for Ron and I.

One thing I wish I had: A purse that if I put my hand in it there would always be enough money to pay for what I wanted. Is there such a thing? Well it did say WISH.

One thing I would do again, regardless of the pain: Have all my babies! I could not imagine my life without any of them.

One thing that I absolutely hate to do: Mop the floor. It drives me crazy to just swish around water that is probably only clean the first time you use the mop. If I ever have to clean the floor (which is not often because Ron does it for me so I don't have to think about it) I have to get down on my hands and knees and wash it by hand. I even get out the toothbrush to get in all of the edges and corners. Can we say OCD!

One thing that is weird about me: Can we say OCD! Yes we can! OK, Hi my name is Candace and I have am OCD. I have told you guys all enough about this.

One thing that I need help on: The cure for OCD?

One thing I find most relaxing: Pedicures... there is a reason it has cure on the end.

One thing that could get me in trouble: What? trouble? I don't know anything about getting into trouble... It wasn't me I swear.

One thing that annoys me: Waiting in line at Wal Mart. Is it just me or do they have major issues with the people they hire to run the check stands? They seem like they are working hard but it always takes me at least 15-30 minutes to get through the line regardless if I am the first one in line or if there are 5 people in front of me.

One thing I dread; therefore, don’t do very often: Shop at Wal Mart! ... with kids!

One thing that I have learned, but still sometimes forget: To not put my elbows on the table.

Family Photos 2008

OK OK OK, here are the photos you have all been waiting for...
No, this is not all of them... just a little taste.
My friend Amy took them. She is brilliant! I love all of the pictures she took, even the ones with me in them. We had fun wondering around this little park. I even climbed a tree. (photo not included) It was chilly but we finally did it! WE GOT FAMILY PICTURES!!!

Oh and yes that is my new hair cut. For those that voted, six was the winner but my cut is more of a combination of a few of them. I like it alot.

Vote on my future hair style!!! Please!!!

Ok... I only cut my hair about twice a year. Mostly because it cost so much. And well it is that time of year again. My hair is looking very bad and in great need of re-shaping. So I thought I would put it up for a vote.

Here is a pic of my last hair cut. (FYI - I hate pics of me so enjoy this... you wont get many) I want something new and youthful looking. I have a few pics of hairstyles that I like but if you can think of something else or find a better picture please send it to me. Or if I should just stick to the same thing... you get the idea.

Ok just vote on the number you like best! Oh and keep in mind that I have very thick naturally curly hair and three kids to get ready so not to high maintence if you know what I mean.

55 questions all devoted to ME.

Yeah, I know, you are probably sick of reading these tags, but I think they are fun. Plus the fact that I am behind on getting more pictures of the kids on here and this is my lame attempt to keep all of you entertained until I do so. I plucked this little jewel from my friend Amy’s Blog. If you, too, want to answer 55 random questions about yourself, let me know and I will read yours, too!

1. What time did you get up this morning? Well I got up with Breanna at about 1:30 A.M. I guess you can call that morning... but I went back to bed and later got up at 6:45 A.M. This is the typical time that I get up on a weekday. I have to get the kids up and get them ready and get myself ready and get all of us out the door to various destinations depending on the day. Today everyone was sick so I tucked a couple back in bed got myself ready and headed out to work. FYI I am NOT a morning person and I absolutely hate to get up in the morning. I feel bad for Ron cause he is usually the unlucky soul who has to drag my butt out of bed.

2. Diamonds or pearls? Diamonds, they are a girl’s best friend.

3. Last movie you saw at a cinema? Iron Man, I went to go see it with my good friend Wendy (I love girls night out!) It was actually a really good movie. There weren’t any good chic flicks or we would have gone to see one of those. Hey Wendy, are you up for another Girls night?

4. What is your favorite TV show? Survivor... although this season is not that great! No one I really like. I also watch Amazing Race, Biggest Loser... I guess I like contest type shows. I also watch a bunch that I probably shouldn’t and are kind of embarrassing to admit to watching like America’s Next Top Model, Desperate Housewives, Brothers & Sisters, Grey’s Anatomy. There are a myriad of children’s show like The Spectacular Spiderman, TMNT, Word World, Curious George, Reading Rainbow that the kids and I watch on various days of the week. Wow it looks like all I ever do is watch TV but in reality we really don’t have it on too much and we don’t watch every episode. I like to have the TV off on most days.

5. What do you usually have for breakfast? If Ron is not cooking I have Cereal, Oatmeal or Yogurt with granola. If Ron is cooking it could be anything from Biscuits and Gravy to pancakes to Hashbrowns with eggs. I like it when Ron cooks but it is healthier for me when he doesn’t. Today I had a bowl of plain Cheerios.

6. What is your middle name? Leigh, not sure why I have that middle name or why my parents gave it to me. That would be a good question to ask some day. When I was little I always spelled it wrong (Lee). I like the way my mom spelled it. She did tell me that she spelled it that way so if when I was older and didn’t want to go by Candace that I could go by Leigh.

7. What food do you dislike? Bacon, I hate the smell of it cooking. Reminds me of having morning sickness. I forbid the stuff in my house! Plus it is really unhealthy (Ron can thank me later when I have kept his arteries partly clear) I am also not a fan of Pickles (Ron does appreciate this one cause he gets all my pickles and I also have a hunch that when he orders my food he conveniently forgets this point just so he can get the extra pickles).

8. What is your favorite CD at the moment? Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, I like it cause it is clean language/content good lyrics and yes it is ROCK. I love to crank the radio on my way home from work or anywhere that I am alone and sing at the top of my lungs. Other favorite bands are Hoobastank, Paramore, No Doubt, Nickelback, All-American Rejects... mostly Alternative/Rock.

9. What kind of car do you drive? Kia Sedona and Mazda 626.

10. Favorite sandwich? I love sandwiches as long as they don’t have bacon or pickles on them but my favorite is probably a BBQ pulled pork sandwich.

11. What characteristic do you despise? People who are really sweat and act like they are your friend to your face but behind your back they are completely not your friend.

12. Favorite item of clothing? Ron bought me these really funny flannel PJ that have pictures of black and pink bras and undies all over them. I love these jammies, they are super comfy and they are cute to boot.

13. If you could go anywhere in the world on vacation, where would you go? I have always wanted to go to Hawaii. I have heard so many fun stories from people who have gone there. Plus that fact that Ron has been there and I haven’t makes me want to go even more. I also want to go to Australia and New Zealand for the same reasons.

14. Are you an organized person? Yes and No. Some things I am anally organized about and other things I am not that way. You know OCD on some things and not on others.

15. Where would you retire to? Preferably someplace warm but anywhere close to my kids and hopefully grandkids (according to Cameron I will have several grandkids).

16. What was your most recent memorable birthday? We do the same thing every year... go to my mom’s, have dinner, and eat cake or some other kind of dessert. No surprises, no special outings, no one jumping out of a cake, no huge sac of money (kind of boring)

17. What are you going to do when you finish this? Probably read more blogs and find more tags and then post the tags on my blog and annoy everyone with more information then they care to know about me.

18. Farthest place you are sending this? I am putting this on my blog so who knows how far it will be sent... I think Albert might read it and he is in Australia.

19. Person you expect to send it back first? Well, no one, since I’m blogging this one instead of emailing it. BUT if you DO do it, let me know!

20. When is your birthday? March 14th

21 . Morning person or a night person? See #1. I am definitely NOT a morning person. When Ron and I got married he and his whole family were morning persons... I would get phone calls from Ron’s parents before the butt crack of dawn. Ron of course was already up and off to work which left me having to answer the phone. Needless to say I was not a very cheerful person when I answered. Example "Hello" in my most unfriendly morning voice. " Oh hey Candy, has Ron gone off to work?" in their most cheerfully exuberant voice. "YES" practically growling at them. "Oh did I wake you?" again with the happiness. "YES" holding back profanity. "Oh, then I will just call him there then. You can go back to sleep"Stupid morning people! "..." CLICK!!! 1..2..3.. "Mommy, can I get up?" Either Ron told them or they figured it out after fourty times that you do NOT call me in the morning... especially before the sun is up! A bonus though... Ron is no longer an EXTREME morning person!!!

22. What is your shoe size? 6-7 wide-width, depending on the shoe. I have my fathers Fred Flintstone feet. (Thanks Dad)

23. Pets? No pets until the kids can clean up the poop and feed the critter. And no inside pets unless they are in a cage.

24. Any new and exciting news you'd like to share? Burton just finished up his Wolf! I can see the tip of Breanna’s first tooth! Cameron ran and puked in the garbage can instead of on my couch last night! Oh wait this is supposed to be about me... um I don’t have grey hair yet! That is pretty darn exciting.

25. What did you want to be when you were little? An Interior Designer or an Architect... I used to watch This Old House when I was like 6 years old.

26. How are you today? Tired. Hungry. Tired. Cold. Did I mention I was Tired... Aunt Flow will be visiting soon so and she always makes me extra tired. TMI - I know.

27. What is your favorite flower? Daffodils, Lilac, Gerber Daisies, Lavender, Hyacinths, Magnolia, Hydrangeas, Tulips, Etc... I can’t pick just one, and I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a flower I didn’t like.

28. What is a day on the calendar you are looking forward to? Halloween... Just a few more days.

29. What are you listening to right now? Nothing... I am at work and they don’t like my music choices. Oh wait the phone is ringing...

30. What was the last thing you ate? See #5. And it is way past lunch time so I better hustle through this and go eat something.

32. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Black, it is universal and essential

33. How is the weather right now? Sunny and slightly chilly.
